Our story

Built on belief in every child's creative potential

TKN Creative Resilience was founded in San Diego County with one conviction: every young person — regardless of background — deserves a space to create, grow, and be seen.

Why we exist

Too many children move through childhood without ever being told that their ideas matter. TKN was created to change that — to give young people in our community the tools, mentors, and stages they need to discover who they are through creative expression.

We believe resilience isn't just about bouncing back. It's about building something — a painting, a song, a story, a business — and learning through that process that you are capable of more than you imagined.

Our beginnings

Before becoming a nonprofit, our initiative raised $25,000 in private funding to help seven youth soccer players travel to Europe with Selectivo San Diego. TKN Creative Resilience was built on that same belief in young people — and a commitment to bringing creative opportunity to a broader community.

What we stand for

Every child belongs

We design every program to be radically inclusive — welcoming children of all abilities, backgrounds, and creative starting points.

Creativity builds confidence

Making something with your hands or your voice teaches you that your perspective has value. That lesson lasts a lifetime.

Community is the curriculum

Mentors, families, sponsors, and volunteers learn alongside the children. Growth here is never one-directional.

Rooted in North County

We are a San Diego County organization with deep ties to North County communities — Oceanside, Vista, Escondido, San Marcos, and beyond.

Our mission

TKN Creative Resilience exists to expand access to creative opportunity for youth in North County and across San Diego County. Every program, scholarship, and partnership is built on the belief that young people grow when they are given space to create, be seen, and belong.
